Schwallie Family Foundation Scholarship

    for Students with Asperger’s Syndrome

The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is currently reviewing the fall 2010 Schwallie Family Scholarship Competition to support qualified individuals with autism or Asperger Syndrome residing in the United States pursuing post-secondary education. OAR will present awards of $3,000 each across three categories: 1)Four-year undergraduate college or university; 2)Two-year undergraduate college, and; 3) Trade, technical or vocational school. These will be one-time awards for any recipient.

Program for students with Asperger's Syndrome at Marshall University

The College Program for Students with Asperger's Syndrome was started in 2002. Students participating in the program have met acceptance criteria for Marshall University and have been admitted to the College Program for Students with Asperger's Syndrome through a separate application process. The program uses a positive behavior support approach to assist participating students. Social, communication, academic, leisure and personal living skills are assessed through person-centered planning.
